Val Garland

Makeup artist Val garland has been known for rebelling against the word of beauty. From her work with alexander McQueen, in his early collection, to the fixture backstage at a Vivienne Westwood; she has been known to do thing outside the norm. So it’s no surprise that she has done it again in this look. Garland has created this look by hiding the face with freckles, unlike what a lot of makeup artists would do, she has actually switched the rules and allowed the consoled to be the concealer.

About the artist her self

Val garland has been called one of the most fascinating, brilliant and slightly bonkers minds In makeup. She has worked with the likes of Lady Gaga (on born this way), Vivienne Westwood, alexander McQueen; and many more.

Her background has not always been in makeup but in hair. Garland has been quoted saying that she fall into the industry by chance (when working in a photo shoot, the makeup artist did not for the shoot so she was asked to do the makeup as well) the shots went on to be in a Australian magazine; and the lest as some would say is history.

In the early 90s, garland was approached by MAC’s senior vice president of the makeup artistry and asked if they could sponsor her, this as you can image opened a lot of doors for her. Through that she went on to work with Alexander McQueen and many more like Vivian Westwood.
