elizabethan contemporary look Research and practice

Here is an image I found in the Alex box book. At fast glands of this look, one can see the Elizabethan makeup; Everything from the very pale skin and the thin pencilled in eyebrow that have been drown on top of the covered eyebrows, to the plash of pink cheeks and lip.

The look however has been made contemporary by the makeup on the eyes and the black used on the sides of the lips. Also the freckles seen in this look would have been something the Elizabethans would have covered, but in this image the freckles are not fully covered, making it a contemporary Elizabethan look.

This look has inspired me to create my own version of the look.

For this look i used a pale foundation on half of the face and my normal skin tone for the top part. for the cheeks i used pink blusher and i applied it on the apples of my cheeks. for the lips i used the same colour as the cheeks to crate a stained lip look.

This look that i created is a good representation of the Elizabethan contemporary makeup. The pale face and the red cheeks and stained lips is more Elizabethan, the top part is what makes the look contemporary because the eyebrow is very visible and also the foundation used is worm.

It was fun creating this look.
